Hey, y’all! It is time for another #WalkForever training update! I’m going to be honest, I was not too thrilled with my finishing time for this session and thought about scrapping it. However, training is training. So, let’s get into it. I actually woke up almost two hours before I officially started the walk. Since these 40 mile walks have been the most challenging thus far, I needed that extra time to prep myself. The weather was calling for rain but not until later in the afternoon, which was great! The first 10 miles started a couple minutes after 4 in the morning, and was kicked off with, “Scream” by Adelita’s Way. It was 64 degrees. Now, remember what I said about rain not happening until the afternoon? Yet, it literally started coming down within the first few miles. When that happens I can’t walk as fast as usual, because I have to hold my glasses since the rain hinders clear vision. I was still moving at a good pace with an average of 12.36. I managed to walk up a total of 16 hills during this set! The second 10 miles was kicked off with, “Everywhere” by Michelle Branch. The temperature was still at 64 degrees. The rain was long gone, and not missed. My average pace had rose to an average of 12.52. That was when I started to get a bit concerned, because I was already going slower than my overall pace last week. I walked up a total of 14 hills during set! The third 10 miles was kicked off with, “You Drive Me Crazy” by Britney Spears. The temperature was still at 64 degrees. My average pace had rose to an average of 13.00. I was still hoping I could finish strong despite the pace. I walked up a total of 14 hills during this set. The final 10 miles was kicked off with, “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal. The temperature was now 70 degrees. My main focus during this set was to finish as quickly as I could. Though, when it looked like I wouldn’t be able to beat last week’s time, I just focused on finishing. I didn’t record how many hills I walked up during this set. I don’t know what exactly went wrong with this session but, again, training is training. I’m looking forward to trying again this coming week. Following this post will be a “Fuel” and “Leg Progress” post. I hope every follower is doing well. (I hope y’all don’t get caught in the rain like me.) I appreciate y’all following this superheroic fitness journey. Coming next: The 65th day of #WalkForever training!
