Happy Thursday, y’all! It has been a couple weeks since I last posted a #WalkForever training post, and it definitely showed in training today! Training update is as follows… SO I ENDED UP GETTING READY FOR THE WALK AROUND 5 IN THE MORNING. Which is awesome because that is actually my preference. I had some crackers and a beyond burger for fuel. I heard the rain outside so I decided to take a hoodie, which, unfortunately, was a mistake later in the walk (THE SWEAT) . I knew my body was going to be feeling off after not doing this for two weeks, but the the first 10 miles weren’t that bad! I was even able to get some running in here and there. During this part of the walk it felt as though my body was happy to be able to move freely again. Now the second 10 miles was where things started to get sour. Despite the overcast weather, it was humid and my body was not feeling it. I was keeping a good pace overall but this is when my legs were started to remind me that I can’t go too long not consistently doing this. The third 10 miles was where my speed was drastically slower than usual, and at the same time my phone was getting close to a low battery. I was tempted to stop the walk at 30 miles and finish the final 5 miles another day but I wanted to see through today. I made to 33 miles before I had no choice but to take a break and let my phone charge. After 10-20 minutes, I went and finished the remaining miles. I think this walk may be my slowest time but because of my current schedule, I won’t be too hard on myself. I’m happy I was able to get outside and do some much-needed #WalkForever training. And speaking of my current schedule, it looks like I will only be able to do #WalkForever on Thursdays for the time being. Regardless I will keep the blog up to date on my progress. I really appreciate those that are continuing to follow this blog. I hope y’all are moving more swiftly than I was today! 😅 Part 2 of this post will feature a leg progress photo!
