Happy Friday, y’all! Now this was supposed to happen yesterday but my body was thrown off for some reason! Training update is as follows… I COULD NOT GO TO SLEEP ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT! I was literally trying to force myself to just get some sleep so that I could wake up early for the walk but I ended up staying up until close to 2 in the morning. It isn’t wise to do demanding fitness routines on little to no sleep, so I decided to wait until today to train again. I have to admit that I was a bit concerned that this was my body’s way of telling me I’m overtraining. The walk today wasn’t bad but I definitely wasn’t going as fast as I was on Tuesday. The first 10 miles was okay but I felt myself starting to get slow about halfway through. The second 10 miles was where I could feel the slowness clashing with me trying to keep a quick pace. The overall pace during these 10 miles was maintained for the rest of the walk. Well, the third 10 miles was where my legs had that same “tired” feeling as if they knew I had 5 miles to go after finishing this set. The final 5 miles was where it felt like an actual hard workout, which is no complaint at all on my part. The finishing time definitely wasn’t great but this is training, so no hard feelings. I plan on practicing this particular walk for a couple of months to get my legs accustomed to this load. The pain is worth is only making me stronger at the end of the day. So for next week, I am starting a new job and my schedule is going to be different than my current one. I may not be able to do #WalkForever again until next Thursday. Hopefully this new gig doesn’t take all my precious energy. (Lol) Until that time, I appreciate those following this superheroic fitness journey. I hope you all are moving and never stop! And of course, Part 2 is a leg progress photo! 🙂
